The company was founded in 1975 by the name of Chuanyuan Co Ltd as a start for the pump business in Taiwan.

In 1990, the company was assessed as an A-class manufacturer to fix CNS standards by the Commodity Inspection Bureau of Taiwan. Meanwhile, the company gradually becomes a leader in local pump field with its GSD brand.

In 1995, the company acquired the certificate of ISO 9002 for quality assurance. 

In 1996, a subsidiary by the name of Shanghai GSD Industrial Co., Ltd was established in Shanghai to begin its business in China. At this moment, the mother company Chuanyuan acquired the certificate of ISO 14001 from BVQI for environmental management.

In 2003, Shanghai GSD Industrial Co., Ltd itself acquired the certificate of ISO 9001 and a newly edited ISO 9000 afterward, for both quality assurance and company management system.

From 2003 till now, branch offices in Guangzhou, Yangzhou, Jiansu, Beijing and North Territory were established to cover a nation-wide sales net in China. Meanwhile, an overseas department is, therefore, formed to handle all exports to worldwide market. 

In 2010, Shanghai GSD Industrial Co., Ltd has passed ISO14001:2004.

2011 Chuanyuan Pinghu plant put into the building
